We opened in 2000 and have with time managed to source the best of Welsh and British meat and poultry. Due to recent publicity on the poor grade of meat being sold in supermarkets we have found an even bigger demand to supply the consumer with fresh meat and poultry from good local farms and reputable suppliers.
There is enough bad publicity in the media to put us off eating meat but the reality is not all meat and poultry on sale has been reared in poor conditions or fed a poor diet.
If we are to feed ourselves and families then we must use the best around.Although this can cost us a bit more to produce and purchase
A proper diet for the animal,vets and meat inspectors to make sure the animals are slaughtered correctly does add to the cost. It is also a small price to pay to know that the meat you are eating has been reared in the best possible conditions,fed healthily and has not suffered cramp conditions in a barn with hundreds of other animals like cheap produced supermarket meat.
For the smaller farms to produce this quality meat and keep these animals in the conditions they deserve then it has to be supported continually. This includes first class animal welfare and full traceability.
